Hi, I’m Tom Dyer—and flair bartending has been the biggest adventure of my life.
My journey started when I was 16, clearing tables at Bennigan’s in London. At 18, I picked up my first bottle behind the bar—thinking, naively, that it might help me get more attention from the ladies. Spoiler: it didn’t. But it did introduce me to something far greater—flair. And from that moment, I was hooked.
Everything changed in 2000 when I saw the Roadhouse World Final for the first time. I walked away from that night inspired and determined to get on that stage one day. By 2002, I had won my first UK Flair Championship. Since then, I’ve gone on to win over 85 competitions around the world—including two Roadhouse World Titles, two WFA Grand Slams, and 12 UK titles. But the truth is, none of it came easy.
Behind every trophy are hours of practice, a lot of mistakes, and more than a few dropped bottles.
I've had the chance to travel to over 85 countries, perform on international stages, appear on global television, and represent some amazing brands.
I’ve also failed—badly. I opened a bar that didn’t work out, launched a vodka brand that flopped. But I learned a lot, and I carry those lessons with me into every project I take on today.
I’m incredibly proud to have co-founded the World Flair Association and Flair Camp. These aren’t just projects—they’re communities. Places where flair bartenders from all over the world can connect, train, compete, and share knowledge. Seeing bartenders grow in confidence and skill—especially those who didn’t believe in themselves at first—that’s what keeps me going.
Education is a big part of my mission. I’ve taught thousands of students through my own personal training, You Tube channel and Flair Camp. I’ve always believed that flair should be fun, functional, and accessible to everyone—from beginners to professionals.
My YouTube channel, Tom Dyer Bartender, is where I try to pass on what I’ve learned (and show a few tricks too). I also run a flair and bar-tools shop with my mum—yes, really.
Whether I’m teaching, performing, or just having a laugh with other bartenders, I still feel like that kid at Roadhouse, looking up at the stage. The fire never left.
Thanks for stopping by. If you’re curious about flair, bartending, or just want to talk cocktails, I’d love to connect.
